SPAP Prescription Management Solution
The Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) legislation allows State Pharmacy Assistance Programs (SPAPs) to "wrap around" Medicare benefits to fill coverage gaps. Unlike ADAP, SPAP costs count toward TrOOP, allowing patients to move through the coverage gap. SPAPs are designed to provide state-funded programs with financial assistance to supply prescription drugs to those with low-incomes and the medically needy with disabilities.
